What drew you to TENCEL™ Modal back then, and how did that early choice shape Eberjey today?
Ali Mejia: It started as a moment of instinct in the design room. I had one of our traditional woven cotton pyjamas hanging on a rack and was holding TENCEL™ Modal sample yardage in my hand when I thought, ‘Why aren’t we making pyjamas in this?’ We cut a sample, tried it on, and immediately something clicked. The drape, the softness, the way it moved naturally with the body created a feeling of ease we hadn’t experienced before. At first, it wasn’t a calculated business decision. It was an emotional and sensory one. Later, we fell in love with the sustainability story behind the fiber, but initially, it was simply about how the fabric made you feel. That sense of softness and ease ultimately became foundational to our brand.
