Lenzing introduces an exciting new innovation: the TENCEL™ Lyocell - HV100 fiber. The unique fiber presented a paradoxical challenge: how to engineer imperfection that appears natural?

Enter Variocut technology, which creates variable fiber lengths and introduces subtle irregularities that replicate the authentic texture of natural fibers. The new Lyocell fibers are still soft, but more matte, allowing for new possibilities in warp yarns that are traditionally cotton-dominant.

The yarn will launch first in the denim category, a design area where that more textured feel and functional authenticity is paramount. Beyond denim, developments into apparel and home textiles will be arriving in 2026. Trials have shown that texture can be further fine-tuned when blended with standard TENCEL™ Lyocell or cotton, offering even more versatility.  This development demonstrates Lenzing's continual commitment to creative possibilities, enabling new ways to innovate and co-create with mill partners.

The first public showcase of TENCEL™ Lyocell - HV100 denim applications will be presented at the Lenzing booth during Kingpins Amsterdam, October 15-16. At the event, there will be live fabric demonstration and mill partner collaborator exhibits for denim industry pioneers, sustainable manufacturing leaders and textile innovation experts.
