Lenzing is part of the 100 companies joining the Million Tree Challenge* in support of planting 10,000 trees in California this year, helping the state recover from the worst fire season in its history. This year, the Million Tree Challenge donors will be contributing to California's iconic forests. After a 5 year drought and a destructive bark beetle infestation, the record breaking wildfire season in 2018 ripped through 1.9 million acres – an area larger than Delaware. Now, hundreds of millions of trees need to be restored in California.

Lenzing is supporting forestation in Turkey with its TENCEL™ brand by planting the ‘Good for the Earth’ grove. TENCEL™ Turkey has collaborated with ÇEKÜL and donated 5,000 trees to the 7 Tree Forests program as a part of its Earth Month campaign. Oak and black pines trees will grow as part of this collaboration.ÇEKÜL, the Foundation for the Protection and Promotion of the Environment and Cultural Heritage (ÇEKÜL), is one of the leading heritage NGOs in Turkey, strives to foster and build a nation-wide awareness and network for the preservation of the urban and rural, built and natural environment.
7 Tree Forests is the lead program as well as the first and largest public participation initiative in Turkey, aiming to create nationwide awareness of deforestation and desertification. Inspired by the fact that each individual consumes approximately 7 trees annualy in a lifetime, the program aims to increase awareness about deforestation and desertification.
