The key is versatility: TENCEL™ brand talks Fall 2020 activewear and footwear trends with HipNewJersey

Recently, Sharon Pérez, Business Development Manager for the TENCEL™ brand in the United States, sat down with lifestyle and fashion website, HipNewJersey, to discuss the latest in activewear and footwear trends for Fall 2020. Showcasing key garments made from TENCEL™ branded fiber, Sharon shared a variety of exciting pieces from boutique and international brands at a range of price points.

Versatility has become a key trend this fall, with 42% of US employees now working from home full-time and as gyms and fitness spaces begin to reopen after months of lockdown. Adapting to the new normal, consumers are now looking for versatile and sustainable garments that are durable for a heavy workout, yet comfortable enough to run errands or conduct morning meetings right from the kitchen table.

In activewear, Sharon introduced co-branding partners that features TENCEL™ branded fibers in their collections. Boutique brand NOBULL creates CrossFit tailored clothing using a blend of TENCEL™ lyocell fibers with spandex produced at bluesign® certified factories, and similarly, Eddie Bauer showcase a special co-branded hangtag on TENCEL™ branded pieces, ensuring consumers can easily locate and learn more about TENCEL™ branded garments.

Sharon also discussed collaborations with international brands such as Athleta and Lululemon. Athleta’s studio jogger, a multipurpose piece designed for yoga and off-the-mat wear using TENCEL™ branded modal fibers, is lightweight, soft, quick drying and easily packable when on the go. Lululemon’s new activewear garments are equally adaptable, featuring a blend of TENCEL™ lyocell fibers, LYCRA® and Lululemon’s own X-STATIC® nylon for increased comfort during intense workouts.

For footwear, Sharon talked HipNewJersey through sustainable on-trend shoes from TOMS and Allbirds. TENCEL™ branded fibers are now making their way into many aspects of shoes to help with sustainability guarantees, whilst providing consumers with unparalleled quality and comfort.

TOMS’s CloudBound™ Alpargata shoes with TENCEL™ branded fibers in their lining feature a light and cushioned sole, soft inners, and are sustainable and FSC certified. On the other hand, with an ultra-comfortable knit-upper made from TENCEL™ branded fibers, Allbirds’ latest Tree Runners are environmentally friendly and engineered for serious performance, in addition to being machine washable and having an incredibly secure fit.

Consumers are increasingly interested in the carbon footprint of the products they purchase. Allbirds, for example, innovated a measurement tool that rates products in terms of their carbon emissions, which helps consumers make informed eco-friendly choices.

The TENCEL™ brand will continue to partner with a variety of brands across a range of style, fits and price points, helping to inject sustainability into each new trend. Sharon was thrilled to share the latest TENCEL™ branded products from co-branding partners with HipNewJersey, and help their readers find the best on-trend environmentally responsible essentials for this fall.
