Lenzing showcases new carbon-zero products at Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles 2021, setting a new trend in decarbonized home textiles

Green, low carbon and circular economy are just a few of the trending words derived from new developments in the textile industry over the last few years. Low carbon, eco-friendly products are becoming imperative in the textiles industry. The launch of carbon-zero TENCEL™ fibers provides a new way for home textile consumers to turn their environmental commitments into action. Biodegradable and derived from botanic origin, fabrics produced using carbon-zero TENCEL™ fibers not only possess the functional advantages of standard TENCEL™ branded fibers, but have also been certified as CarbonNeutral® products, certifying in achieving carbon neutrality in line with the CarbonNeutral Protocol.

Carbon-zero TENCEL™ fibers make an impressive entrance to become the first choice for future carbon-zero homes.

Another key sustainable offering on display were the TENCEL™ Lyocell LF x Micro fibers. Part of the impressive selection included exquisite bed products made from these fibers, which received a great deal of attention from a large audience. Lenzing also showcased the use of TENCEL™ Lyocell Fill fibers in bed fillings, displaying the full range of home applications using TENCEL™ fibers, including bed sheets, quilt covers, towels, bathrobes, carpets among other products.

In an interview at the exhibition, Mr. Lin Zongzhou, Procurement Director and Mr. Lin Zongzhou, Marketing Director from TON DESIGN, together with David Dai, Commercial Director from Lenzing China Textiles, further elaborated on the characteristics and application advantages of TENCEL™ fibers. TENCEL™ Lyocell LF fibers with Micro technology can reach a fineness of 0.9dtex, making fabrics more delicate and lighter to give users maximum natural comfort. In addition, the fibers are suitable for the production of lighter, finer, luxurious and delicate home textiles. As David Dai commented, “It is the innovation driven by Lenzing technology that has promoted the design development of top-notch brands at home and abroad, leading the new fashion trend in the home industry.”

As a global leader in cellulosic fibers, Lenzing fits the corporate philosophy of multiple brands and TON DESIGN is one such brand we have worked closely with. As Lin Zongzhou describes, “With Lenzing’s support on the implementation of 'green, environmentally- friendly and technology innovation' we are providing home textile consumers with superior and more environmentally friendly quality home products." Soft, cool and comfortable, TENCEL™ fibers are known for their green and biodegradable features, which have become the core advantages for TON DESIGN’s new spring and summer products. Zhang Ling went on to describe how TENCEL™ Lyocell LF x Micro fibers are characterized by their smooth touch to the skin and maintain fabric performance even after several washes. Keeping in line with the high-end product positioning of TON DESIGN to meet consumers’ requirements for high-end home fabrics.
