12.11.2003
Neusiedler SCP started up the CBC cooking plant at Ruzomberok, Slovakia
Neusiedler SCP Ruzomberok, Slovakia, has successfully started up the cooking plant after implementing the Continuous Batch Cooking (CBC) technology. The Austrian based engineering company Lenzing Technik GmbH & Co KG, a subsidiary of the Lenzing Group has delivered technology, engineering and services for this project.
With the well-known CBC advantages as unique alkali-profile, shorter cycle-times and by installation of an additional digester, the plant has reached the target of increased production capacity for paper grade pulp within short.
SCP Ruzomberok Pulp & Paper Mill is situated in the north of Slovakia in the Tatra mountain range and produces copy and offset paper in an integrated operation out of ECF-bleached hardwood and softwood kraft pulp. The implementation of the new cooking technology CBC is an essential part of the overall expansion project.
After the installation at Smurfit-Nettingsdorf Austria, a plant producing high kappa pulp for liner board, and the plant at Klabin Bacell, Brazil which produces dissolving grade pulp for viscose fiber, the Neusiedler SCP plant in Ruzomberok, producing paper grade pulp for the manufacture of fine paper, is a further proof of the universal usability and outstanding performance of the CBC technology.
Lenzing Technik generates annual sales of approximately EUR 80 mill. with a staff of about 500 people. The company implements projects, delivers systems and services throughout the world, primarily for the pulp and fiber industries. Lenzing Technik supports its customers with automation and industrial services in the entire chemical industry sector.
