Inauguration of Lenzing Technik GmbH high-tech sheet metal center
22.10.2007
The new sheet metal center of Lenzing Technik GmbH was inaugurated 19 October, with production at the high-tech plant having already started in August.
Guests were presented with state-of-the-art production facilities: flat-bed laser machines, laser cutting and punching combinations, folding machines and robot-driven welding systems which form the basis of superior production quality. A fully automated high rack magazine, that loads raw materials and removes finished products by self-actuation guarantees maximum efficiency and precision.
The new field of sheet metal technology provides customers from a variety of industries, such as manufacturing systems and plant engineering, environmental technology as well as automotive and medical technology, with high-quality sheet metal products. The product portfolio covers individual parts as well as component groups and single copies as well as large-scale production. Sheet dimension of up to 2,000 by 4,000 mm and 1 to 20 mm thickness can be covered in the production process.
The final extension stage of about 49,000 sq.ft. will employ a staff of 60. As the plant is already operating in two shifts and partly even in three shifts, a possible expansion can be taken into consideration.
Successful combination
Helmut Aigner, managing director of Lenzing Engineering: "With our new business field sheet metal processing we succeeded in combining the know-how of experienced specialists with state-of-the art technology - a combination that is bound to be a success. First major order bookings and the positive market response to our entry into the industry serve as a proof of that."
