Lenzing confirms discussions with Acordis

Lenzing AG, the Austrian fiber producer, confirmed today that it is in preliminary discussions with Acordis (former Courtaulds plc) in connection with the possible establishment of a joint venture for viscose rayon in the U.S.A.
The discussions are confined to the two companies' viscose rayon operations in the United States. Other fibers, and viscose rayon operations in other countries, are excluded.
