Statement in compliance with section 87, paragraph 1a of the Austrian Stock Exchange Act
Due to the proposed election to the Supervisory Board of Lenzing AG at the General Shareholders’ Meeting on 12 June 2008 I declare, in compliance with section 87, paragraph 1a of the Austrian Stock Exchange Act, that I am not aware of any circumstances that could provide concern for bias or prejudice on my part.
Please refer to my curriculum vitae which provides my professional qualification and further details on professional and other essential functions at the time of the election.
Moreover, I declare that there is no obstacle to the appointment in the sense of section 86, paragraph 2, line 1 of the Austrian Stock Exchange Act (exceeding the legal maximum of supervisory board mandates).
I will be glad to answer any questions before or at the General Shareholders’ Meeting.

Designers at the ECO Textile AWARD 08 / Lenzing Botanic – Austria’s first eco-fashion design competition opted for TENCEL®, Lenzing’s lyocell fiber made from the renewable natural raw material wood. On September 5, Karin Maislinger won the first prize for her designer piece ”Brimstone Butterfly “ – convincing couture in eco-quality.
